Come on an outreach to Tonga!

We have multiple outreach opportunities in Tonga.

  • Open air evangelism
  • Door-to-door evangelism
  • Prison ministry
  • Hospital Ministry
  • Ministry in village schools

YWAM Tonga was first established in 1966.

Our campus here at University of the Nations Tonga was officially opened by His Majesty King Taufa’ahau Tupou IV in 1993.

His Majesty was inspired after visiting the University of the Nations campus in Kona, Hawaii.  Therefore he asked Loren Cunningham, the founder of Youth With A Mission, to bring YWAM missionaries to Tonga and create a similar University of the Nations Campus to serve and to train young people in Tonga.

D.T.S. is YWAM’s entry-level school.

Discipleship Training School

D.T.S. is a five to six month program designed to deepen one’s relationship with God and equip them for missions.
It consists of a 3 month Lecture Phase plus a 2 to 3 month Outreach Phase where students travel and apply what they learned.
It is an incredible adventure of faith and ministry!

Most of our students are young people between the ages of 18-25 years old. They are drawn to DTS because they desire to grow closer to God and make a real difference in the world.  During DTS the students live in a community setting along with other students, plus their DTS leader and missionary staff.  In this way the students build life-long friendships with other young people who love Jesus.

Many people say their DTS. changed their life!
That is why we offer DTS annually on our campus, in fact you can find DTS programs on YWAM campuses all over the world!

About Our Campus

Our spacious and beautiful 50 acre campus is situated in the Tongan countryside.  Visitors always declare how peaceful the campus is, with many beautiful places to sit and spend time with God.

Our campus features 14 small student houses; as well as 8 staff/family houses; a large kitchen and dining hall; 2 classrooms; a library; a central office; and a chapel where we worship.

We use approximately 20 acres of the campus’ rich farmland for raising animals (cows, chickens, and pigs) as well as growing vegetables and Tongan root crops.

This healthy farm-grown produce supplements our kitchen meals.  All of our staff and students eat healthy meals from the abundant provision of God through our farm projects.
